Dear ETS Community,
A few staff and faculty persons have approached me today regarding the Coronavirus matter. As you know, two cases of the virus were reported last night (March 10), one in Wayne County and another in Macomb County.
Locally, Wayne State University is extending its Spring Break and cancelling classes until March 23. MSU has suspended all face-to-face instruction. The University of Detroit has issued strong cautions to its community, but is not suspending on-site classes at this time. It seems to be a mixed bag – large universities choosing to shut down and smaller ones monitoring the situation. Having said that, Western Michigan University and other institutions are closely monitoring the situation.
Please refer to the previous ETS advisory, along with links to the State of Michigan and the CDC. The City of Detroit and other agencies have sent out advisories with similar cautions and helpful information. I have pasted links from the State of Michigan and the CDC.
ETS will closely monitor the situation throughout the coming days, and we will advise all of you of any changes in our teaching or operations schedule. We are checking to make sure that all faculty who are scheduled to teach have an online backup strategy. We will respond to the needs of our faculty, staff and students and act accordingly.
Please pray for our world, nation, local communities and ETS as we work together to keep one another safe and healthy during this time.
Please watch for further updates.
Blessings and Divine Health,
Dr. Ken Harris
