Traditions and Trends in Ministry - PM6000

Charles PackerAdjunct Professor

This seminar will investigate the biblical, historical and theological development of the practice of ministry in the Christian traditions. It will also lead you in the exploration of significant themes, trends, and developments, both traditional and contemporary, that may help define the place and role of ministry in our time.

We will begin by examining the ministry of Jesus. You will engage in some original research on the historical development of what we now call “ministry.” We will also explore the theology of ministry and the pastoral applications of that theology in your local setting and the implications for ministry in the globalized world in which we live.
