Happy New Year Greetings!
Two weeks ago the seminary closed for our Christmas/holiday break. The break was a welcomed gift to those of us who have experienced an action-packed 2018. The events of our “Year of Great Celebrations” that celebrated our 60th year of service were a true blessing. These events called for our staff to step up and perform special tasks in addition to our normal responsibilities. Like most small organizations, the proverbial wearing of two hats evolved into the wearing of three or four hats. By the grace of our Lord and personal determination, however, we successfully accomplished our goals. By the way, you may want to pick up your copy of the 60th Year Commemorative Journal. It is a beautiful reflection of who we are.
During our break, I hope each of you has enjoyed quality time with family and friends. I, along with many of you, celebrated the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ with Christians around the world, and took time to give thanks for the many blessings we enjoy personally, collectively and professionally. Our work at ETS is a sacred trust we all take seriously, and work every day to provide accredited theological education to our wonderful students in one of the great urban communities of our nation. What a wonderful opportunity to serve the church.
On behalf of Ruthie and I, please allow me to wish all of our Faculty, Staff, Board, Students, Supporters and Friends a prosperous and blessed 2019. We wish the same for members of our community who look to ETS as a vital link to making this a just community for all. I am thankful to serve with you during this season of my life, and look forward to facing the many wonderful challenges awaiting us in 2019.
Grace and Peace,
The Rev. Dr. Kenneth E. Harris
