Updated: Nov 4, 2020

On Saturday, November 14, 2020 (6:00 PM to 7:30 PM), the Metropolitan Detroit Area American Baptist Women will host an online seminar entitled, Healing During the Holidays: God Heals the Bereaved. The online event is named after a book written by Dr. Samuel V. White, III, Academic Dean at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary. Dr. White will be the featured presenter.
Dr. White, who is also the author of the book, No More Tears, will use both books during his presentation. He will talk about coping with death and loss during the holidays and what to do when feeling sad, stressed, empty and lonely during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years' Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day.
In the book, Healing During the Holidays, Dr. White shows you how to:
Grieve and still enjoy the holidays.
Develop an attitude of gratitude during Thanksgiving.
Experience the Christmas gifts of peace, hope, joy, faith and love.
Participate in a Healing Advent service that honors the deceased and our Lord.
Experience God as a Mother for the Motherless and God a Father for the Fatherless.
Experience New Year’s Day by grieving the past and planning for the future.
Cope with special days: Birthdays, Wedding Anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day.
