Willie R. Hunter, a native of Salem, Alabama, moved to Detroit in 1978, and he began working for First Presbyterian Church of Detroit and Ecumenical Theological Seminary in 1991. This means that over the years of his career, Mr. Hunter has welcomed hundreds of ETS students. In 2010, Mr. Hunter was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in 2010 for twenty years of service at Ecumenical Theological Seminary. Ask any student, faculty, or staff member and they will tell you that he is often the glue that holds the building and its inhabitants together. Mr. Hunter is married to Gwendolyn, and together they have four children and five grandchildren.
