Declaring Nursing Homes as a Mission Field Workshop Receives Local News Coverage

The Sept. 20th “Declaring Nursing Homes as a Mission Field” workshop at ETS received some local television news coverage. Fox2 Detroit reporter Roop Raj stopped by the workshop to talk with organizers, participants and ETS President Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harris. Watch the report here.

The workshop was organized by ETS alumni Rev. Dr. Mark Fisher, who has served as an ETS board member and adjunct faculty. Rev. Fisher is pastor at Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Fenton. The Transfiguration congregation established a nursing home visitation ministry that now includes 20 church members who visit more than 50 individuals each month. The workshop provided support and information for participants who wanted to start a similar visitation ministry at their church.
