Dr. Brandon Grafius, Associate Professor, ETS

The Ecumenical Theological Seminary (ETS) Associate Professor Brandon R. Grafius’s recent monograph, Reading the Bible with Horror, was reviewed in The Review of Biblical Literature, the book review publication of the Society of Biblical Literature. Carl Ehrlich of York University writes: "This interesting, provocative, and well-documented volume makes a strong case for reading relevant biblical passages on the background of modern horror theory.” He summarizes, "Overall, this volume is an excellent and important contribution to biblical scholarship.”

Reading the Bible with Horror was published in 2019 by Lexington Books/Fortress Academic as part of the “Horror and Scripture” monograph series. It has been nominated for the 2022 Grawemeyer Prize in Religion.
