Rev. Dr. Denise Henderson

Doctor of Ministry - Instructor

Rev. Dr. Denise Henderson is an Adjunct Professor for the Doctor of ministry Program and previously served as a Mentor.


Rev. Dr. Denise Henderson has previously served for two years as interim Senior Pastor at New Calvary Baptist Church in Detroit. Dr. Henderson is Director of the Transitional Outreach (Homeless) Ministry at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, where she serves as an Associate Minister.


She is a board-certified leadership and wellness coach from the Center for Credentialing Education and Transformational Leaders International. She has an extensive background of success in human resources management and leadership development, having served as an executive with large health care systems including the Henry Ford Health System and Detroit Medical Center.  She is a sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator.


She has a B. A. in Sociology from Wayne State University, a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Detroit and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Ecumenical Theological Seminary.


Dr. Henderson serves on the Vista Maria Advisory Board. She is founder and Chairperson for the Haygood Scholars Program. She is an Executive Board member of the Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit and Vicinity, Inc. where she serves as Co-Chair for the Health and Human Services Committee. She is a volunteer for the Reach to Recovery Program.
